Dortmunder profile for inclusion-oriented teacher-education
Project description: The aim of the DoProfiL project is to restructure the training curricula in teacher training programs in order to improve inclusion-oriented teacher training and to improve access to learning content for all learners, e.g. through innovative teaching/learning formats. DoProfiL understands inclusion as a cross-cutting issue and involves different subject didactics and groups of people in the project design. Inclusion is framed within an understanding of diversity that encompasses gender, religion, ethnicity, social or economic status, physical impairments, or special learning needs.
During the entire duration of the DoProfiL project, the process will be evaluated. In the second funding phase (2019-2023), the sub-project Evaluation will be accompanied by the department "Methods of Empirical Educational Research". Formative and summative evaluations will take place at the personnel and institutional levels. At the personal level, student teachers will be surveyed longitudinally on their inclusion-related attitudes and attitudes as well as on their knowledge about diversity and their self-efficacy in the context of inclusive educational processes. At the institutional level, inclusion-oriented changes will be quantified through a content analysis of module handbooks. In addition, teachers at TU Dortmund University will be surveyed on how they deal with heterogeneity in university teaching. For the creation and support of individual teaching evaluation concepts, a needs-based workshop will be designed.
Project duration: 2019-2023
Funding: This project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the joint „Qualitätsoffensive Lehrerbildung“ of the federal and state governments.
